And I’m back…
In no particular order, here are the 12 (actually 11 + a review) areas in my life I am going to focus on for the next 12 months.
Now, this is where it gets hard for a resolutionist like myself. I want to get started on all of them all at the same time. My husband has told me numerous times that I try to do too much at one time and need to just focus on one thing at a time. My idea for these areas is to come up with 2 subcategories and focus on one subcategory for 2 weeks at a time. After 2 weeks, I am hoping that it will have become a habit and I can start on something else. My next job is to come up with my subcategories and figure out and order for these. Again, the order is going to be difficult b/c I want to do everything now.
Wish me luck!
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Messy Jessie and I am a resolutionist.
Ok, let’s start from the beginning… Messy Jessie is a nickname that I got from my nephews and I have started to embrace it. I have to say I am not the neatest, most organized person, so I guess it is a somewhat accurate nickname. (And when they call me Messy Jessie, my nephews laugh and I can’t say no to that).
A resolutionist is a term that I made up for a compulsive resolution-maker, which would be me! It doesn’t have to be January 1st for me to make a list of resolutions for my life. In fact, any Monday or the first of any month would work just fine for me. Inevitably you can find me on most Sunday nights making a list of things that I want to change and work on starting on Monday. In a resolutionists perfect world, every month would start on a Monday. It would make things so much easier. I don’t like starting projects in the middle of the week, and therefore I wait until Monday. (What day am I starting this blog? Right… Monday).
So, anyway this blog is a place for me to “vocalize” my goals and hold myself accountable. I am working on a list of 12 areas in my life that I want to work on. Of course my goals and plans will start on July 1st 🙂 Too bad July 1st isn’t on a Monday… That would be perfect! My plan is to come back tomorrow and have my list of things ready so I can get a schedule set up.
Now, this is not my first time to try and keep up with a blog, but I am really hoping to keep up with this one (one of my resolutions). Any other resolutionists out there?
